taiwanThe bleak economic landscape is taking its toll on workers, as cases of clinical depression have increased by at least 10% each month since September, according to physician Yang Tsung-Tsai at the Cardinal Tien Hospital. Unpaid leave adn other job-related issues are resulting in the rising cases of clinical depression among workers in Taiwan. Most new patients are male, reporting habitual insomnia, anxiety and automatic nervous system disorders. In addition, male patients appear to experience greater symptons than women do, said Yang, who moted that male patients tended to show their listlessness. Yang suggested that for workers should learn different skill sets and to be more positive in their thinking in order to cope with economic downturn.
