It is now more than 15 years since the Balanced Scorecard framework made famous by Kaplan & Norton forst gained public acceptance. A majority of organisations, both public nad private now use this tool to steer organisational strategy through linking measures, both financial and non-financial, to KPI's that drive bottom line performance. After 15 years, is it not time that Human Resources developed the same framework to show how policies and initiatives in HR really do add value and profit to the organisation? It is time for HR to embrace the power of sound Metrics to truly become a strategic partner of the business.
