vietnamThe Foreign Invested Enterprises' Association has lodged a complaint with the Prime Minister regarding a new law that imposes "unreasonable" conditions on recruitment and work permit extensions in Vietnam. Decree 46, which amends some regulations stipulated in the Decree 34 released in 2008 on foreign worker recruitment adn management, took effect on the 1 August 2011. The Association has pointed out several issues they have with the Decree. Firstly, the decree stipulates that 30 days before recruiting foreign workers for some posts, employers must advertise for Vietnamese workers for the same posts on local media. When applying for job permits to foreigners, companies have to submit documents to prove the accuracy of the information.
